First. The emotional abuse condition known as “cuckoldry” is a mental illness that is being increasingly recognised in greater numbers this year on the internet, with it's sufferers dis-affectionately being called “Cucks”.
Second. The steep drop in box office sales after the first week of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice can be explained somewhat by the aforementioned phenomenon in the first paragraph of this article.
It's no secret that Hollywood has gotten smarter in the way they make movies nowadays.
Especially when it comes to intelligent movies, their knowledge of the silver screen formula far surpasses any former year.
In this internet age of awakening and philosophic pursuits, many people find themselves pondering heavier intellectual ideas that have rarely in the past been considered outside of academia.
Ideas such as what really are the limits of human potential? Are we able to reach inter-space travel? Are we able to achieve world peace, decisively, once-and-for-all? Is the human mind capable of such feats? Can we continue to make human life last longer through innovation? Will we actually one day live forever?
More people than ever before have been stretching these human mind muscles. Lots of them end up over-analysing to the point of mental exhaustion. There is endless information to pour over once you begin to look for these answers.
But to explain this phenomenon we must take a look at another, the great number of people who are finding out they may suffer from some form of cuckoldry.
One form is expressed by the strange existence of couples who decide to spice up their sex life by adding another person into the mix. The way that a person allows themselves to be talked into having a threesome where their partner is in bed with an extra party member, while they sit back and watch, is the real issue that affects a sufferers ability to control their own destiny in every aspect of their lives.
After spending a long time getting to know this condition, after going past the adult-film industry portrayal in an attempt to understand it better, I am coming out as a sufferer of this illness.
It's 2016, and this year has proven to be the most successful year yet in the history of social justice. Greater segregations for minorities and women of all cultures have been achieved in academia, political circles and the mainstream media. The latter medium of which particularly concerns me as a pivotal platform to reach the largest number of people on issues that crave attention.
More and more people than ever before are beginning to find out about these issues, and it has encouraged safer spaces for people and sufferers of various conditions to emerge and seek wider community acceptance.
This has led to my decision to tell my story, from seriously contemplating suicide as a thirty year old approaching middle age, to getting back on my feet and understanding my condition, in the broadest of hopes to promote wider acceptance for anybody else suffering the same fate.
Having lost the battle that was my relationship, moving in with my mother, looking for a new occupation and coming up empty, and coming to terms with my cuckoldry, depression found the easy in-road to my mind it is always on the lookout for.
It has become well known in this day and age that deep depression can very well lead to suicide, as is evidenced by the appalling death rates projected by the World Health Organisation for the next fourteen years. The number of death projections for intentional injuries and self-harm attributed to both male and female sexes globally in the year 2030 are just over two and a half million lives. (Note: The current stats on the W.H.O. website do not predict any transgender numbers on the risks they face from suicide. Something to take into consideration perhaps, W.H.O.?)

Being an Australian living in the Western-most capitol city of Perth, keeping tabs on the U.S. can seem kind of strange to people over here. But many do not see how close our two countries really are. There is quite a lot on Australia's political plate at this point in time and, understandably, a lot of people cannot justify spending too much precious time trying to understand America's quirky election system, especially since this time around it seems World Wide Wrestling has once and for all finally taken complete control of U.S. politics.
Western culture is shattering at this very moment. Some may welcome this as happy news. Others, especially since this culture is fast becoming a minority in many parts of the world, are beginning to feel the heat.
It is driving many people to forego their beliefs and principals. It is causing many people to live out whole patches of their lives doing the things that others want, for instance staying in occupations that keep them unhappy, or holding opinions on the world that match everybody else's, to keep everyone happy.
Once somebody reaches this point, where some would easily call them a pushover, they are prone to believing in many ideals that vastly contradict their own morals. The ideal that Western Feminism is still needed comes to mind. The West has updated itself since the 1960s to be as fair as it possibly can towards women and all minorities. Most male members of this group in fact suffer from cuckoldry, believing they are inherently bad (probably from a male-only biological cause) and they cause women to suffer even when they think they are helping them. When you spell it out it is hard to see how any one could believe such a thing. But when you search it on the internet you find your common sense is wrong on this one. But a gigantic number of people are followers of an ideal that says women are persecuted in our society. Unfortunately they are, although no more than a man is, because government corruption is systemic at this point.
Enter Batman Vs Superman. The Ultimate Edition of course.
I decided to go and see this film, and yes, I am re-writing my own memories and saying that the Ultimate Edition is the one that came out in cinemas, it always was the original version, and it always will be so help me God, Amen.
If you've not listened to a
Hans Zimmer album, then you
need to do your ears the honor.
It was on the drive home that I was thinking to myself that I should be more like Superman and Batman. Of course, I was playing the very new soundtrack to the film that I had purchased before even seeing the movie. If you've not listened to a Hans Zimmer album, then you need to do your ears the honor.
I was thinking, 'Hey wait, I've always admired Batman and Superman. They've always stood for what's right and don't ever back down. What happened to me though? Why am I a pushover?”
And then all of a sudden I found myself tunnelling into the orchestral orgasm which is the soundtrack to the dream scene in the film that sees a young Bruce Wayne lifted up through the air by a swarm of terrifying comic book bats. At the same moment I found myself having the rare experience of driving in the left hand lane coming up to a red light, with the right hand lane backed up fifteen cars behind as everybody had hoped they could drive past and merge ahead of all the slow cars on the left (after the light turns green of course).
But alas for them, there were only two slow cars in the left lane, the rear of which being me.
Tunnelling, indeed, is what I felt like as I gracefully glided past fifteen fast-laners into a prime front position ready for the merge just up ahead. An air of supremacy filled my chest, and after all, this moment was aided by Hans Zimmer and Junkie-XL playing Greek-God-mythology-worthy opera pieces bluetooth-ed into my car stereo direct.
This film had left me excited, with many new angles and thoughts to ponder on and creativity beginning to surge within me. It did the same thing to those around me, it even inspired a stone-carving friend of mine to forge a life-size model of the Superman logo. He calls it the House of El, and it stands for hope, as you can see below.
all films are brainstorms
great films inspire our
minds to create
So, if this movie is so smart, you might ask, then what is the bigger meaning of the film?
The “real life” news discussion panels lay it all out for us.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson explains the conundrum the humans have as they grapple with the idea of God when they are seeing another God flying on the news. An idea that has taken hold of and transformed the human race in unmentionable ways, the annals of time knowing not it's beginning.
This is the brainstorm that is Batman Vs Superman. Without forgetting it's predecessor, Man of Steel, either.
Giving members of the audience a chance to wrap their heads around the age-old musings over Gods and Men from a different perspective.
Even conspiracy theory buffs will find a pleasant surprise in this film. As Lois Lane the Pulitzer prize winning journalist begins to uncover a huge story involving a psychotic billionaire who secretly sends arms to murderous rebels in Africa (A.K.A. Boko Haram), the Pentagon's Secretary of Defence stops her by referring to her story as a conspiracy theory in dismissal.
When of course in real life the U.S. government is arming the rebels! Albeit the rebels in Syria but it is a story that has been significantly spread around the world by mainstream media and draws many parallels to this event in this film. In the film it turns out that Lex Luthor is in fact the culprit not the U.S., and not the rebels who are by the way portrayed very accurately, as one of their leaders are killed near a small village, prompting the government to come and destroy the village as punishment to show the rest of their country what happens when you cross the rebels in any way.
And so the Secretary of Defence eventually grows interested and becomes an anonymous government whistleblower for the reporter, exposing secrets the government should be investigating, but are instead protecting the criminal for one reason or another.
Life parallels art in many ways.
To suggest these are just 'comic book movies' dazzles the intellect of anyone who has even a remote interest in these films.
The themes that are dealt with in almost any hugely popular 'comic book movie' are themes that the human race must face and come to terms with if we are to survive destroying ourselves. Or allowing ourselves to be destroyed by some unknown, outside force.
These comics, their stories and ethos are testaments to the struggle humanity has with itself and it's capabilities.
To be a God or not be a God.
That is the great question that has been upon us since time immemorial.
What do humans do when power over other humans is given to them?
Ancient Kings and Queens have grappled with this test of will, with their actions deciding the fate of thousands and even millions.
How can anyone not see how this is relevant to politicians and heads of enormous global entities and even gang kingpins, mafia dons and industry leaders, not to mention celebrities, youtube stars and anyone who has a major voice on a national or international stage?
The decisions faced by every single character in a comic book are the result of a massive brainstorm started by the creators and then given to the public in comic, or film, form.
This then results in the audience having their own brainstorms, and major discussions are then launched across the globe.
And, might I add, seeing humanity face these challenges with ingenuity, grace and moral strength are some of the reasons I have great faith in humanity, and I disagree with anyone who dismisses these movies as infantile.
The 9/11 scene in the beginning of Batman Vs Superman captures the horror, and the anger, that Americans felt and the civilised world sympathised with.
Within this seemingly childish 'action movie' you have an extremely accurate portrayal of something the world over has experienced. A part of history.
And it has been mixed with another question that has crossed many, many minds in this day and ages before, indeed, right back to the ancient old ones of every land, which is, what if there was a predator that was greater than the Earth's greatest predator, the human race?
What if we were invaded from the skies?
What would we do?
What would the human race do?
Would we lay down and wait to die, hoping against hope to be spared and to live out the rest of our destiny as slaves?
Surely a lot of us would do that.
But those of us who know it is far better to die a free man than live on your knees would stand. And fight.
And by the way, there are more of us who would fight for freedom than those who would die afraid and alone.
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how Batman Vs Superman uncucked me, by shouting at me “HEY! YOU! YOU THERE, WATCHING BATMAN AND SUPERMAN BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE IN THEIR MORALS! YOU WHO BELIEVES THE GOOD WENT OUT OF THIS WORLD A LONG TIME AGO AND MOST PEOPLE ARE NASTY AND STUPID NOW!
LOOK AT HOW ENORMOUS THIS MOVIE IS. LOOK AT HOW THE WHOLE WORLD WENT NUTS ABOUT IT AND IT WAS A WORLDWIDE PHENOMENON FOR A TIME.
YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE ALONE DIDN'T YOU!
YOU'VE WONDERED IN THE PAST IF THE WHOLE WORLD WAS GOING TO HELL! BUT PEOPLE ARE GOOD, JUST LIKE YOU ARE.”
That's what this film shouted at me for three hours and that's what made me realise I can go back to the time when I stood strong for my morals, and I didn't go with the crowd.
Once upon a time it wasn't me who just went around doing everything anyone wanted of me so people would like me more.
I can and will feel good about being the good guy.
Uncuck yourselves people!
Go watch some Milo Yiannopolous and Gavin McInnes on youtube.
Seeing Bruce Wayne
in the shower made
me want to do situps.
You know, I did laugh out loud when we saw a crowd of stone-faced people silently stare at the evil billionaire Lex Luthor making a speech about power and his elite lust for it. As a case study of what normal humans think of our maniacal elite drooling over the Promethean flame which our top-of-the-food-chainers hold high: it stands in accuracy.
We tend to yawn when forced to listen to madmen with god complexes.
For anyone who doesn't get it, Superman… he's just a bloke! He's a bloke who's from another planet so when he's on Earth his body can do things that others can't. He's a bloke who was raised and taught good morals by his very human parents, I mean, Kevin Costner is one of the most moral guys ever, come on!
He's just a bloke who realised that when he sees a little girl trapped in a house fire on television, he can get there in time and save her. When we see that girl, we slump our shoulders and say “We'll never get there in time. And could never go through the fire or fly to get her down.” We have to realise that we can't save everyone, and that takes a toll on us good folk, especially when we see more of the world than anyone in our short history has before. We are exposed to knowing about more natural disasters and more horrific events that happen globally than any human has had to endure and come to terms with than ever before. Damn right it takes a toll.
It has led us to believe that innocence has been overwhelmed.
Except Superman has the actual real chance we all want to have to really be able to save the people we love from almost anything. This ability has not hampered Superman's innocence like all of ours, and so he does not waver from his moral walk through life.
He is one of many shining beacons for good and right in this world and a role model to all of us.
And they wonder why all the little-boy-men watch 'comic book movies'.
